What are the methods of propagating cactus?

Cactus belongs to the Cactaceae family and is a perennial succulent plant. It is native to Brazil, Argentina, Mexico and subtropical desert or semi-desert areas in the subtropical Americas, and a few are produced in tropical Asia and Africa. It is also distributed in my country, India, Australia and other tropical areas. Cacti are suitable for potted plants and can also be grown on the ground in tropical areas. 1. Propagation by cutting: This propagation method is the simplest. We only need to select a relatively lush cactus, break off a piece, and insert it into another prepared flower pot. Pay attention to moisturizing in the early stage, and the cutting can be completed. This is also the most commonly used breeding method.

2. Propagation by division: Many cacti can grow daughter plants. For example, spherical cacti will have small balls on the stems, while fan cactus or segmented cacti will have daughter plants. After cultivation for a period of time, many small balls will grow near the growing point. When the balls grow to an appropriate size, they can be cut and propagated.

3. Sowing and propagation: Sow seeds in an evacuated area on soaked pot soil, place them in a dark place, and maintain the temperature at about 20°C. The temperature in winter should not be lower than 10°C. When the seeds develop into seedlings, they can be transplanted for the first time.
